For anyone who is a fan of Gucci’s beautifully designed clothing and handbags, it seems that there’s welcome news on the home front. That’s right, the fashion house is now slated to launch a new décor line in September. Also the brainchild of current creative director Alessandro Michele, the collection is set to feature Gucci’s signature motifs, along with a Renaissance inspired theme. From motifs of tigers, cats, snakes and garden florals, initial sketches of the upcoming line have been revealed on Gucci’s official Instagram account.

From chairs and pillows to plates and candles, the furnishings are said to be created with vinyl, silk and paper wallpapers. Artist Alex Merry has also collaborated with Gucci on the collection, and a few of his illustrations are featured on the pieces.
With the announcement of this recently announced interior design line, Gucci is clearly drawing its cues from fellow designer labels Versace and Fendi, who have also released home collections in the past. Although it’s too early to have the full details of this hotly awaited launch, fans will have to wait until the fall to usher Gucci inspired scents and furniture into their humble abodes. As Michele has already earned himself a reputation for a visual feast on the runways, the line will probably live up to Gucci standards, with trademark bright colours and splashy prints.
